A clean starting point
Review the current books, opening balances, outstanding items, and available records. Identify gaps and agree on which periods need attention before recurring work begins.
01 / BOOKKEEPING
Your books should help you understand your business. We bring order to transactions, reconciliations, and reporting so you can spend less time piecing the picture together.
Discuss your projectSOUND FAMILIAR?
You are behind on reconciliations, unsure whether your reports are accurate, or spending evenings sorting receipts instead of running your business.
THE WORK, IN DETAIL
The final scope is tailored to your business.
Here is what an engagement can include.
Review the current books, opening balances, outstanding items, and available records. Identify gaps and agree on which periods need attention before recurring work begins.
Organize business income and expenses using an agreed chart of accounts. Flag unclear entries for your review rather than making assumptions about their purpose.
Compare ledger activity with statements for the accounts included in the engagement. Investigate missing, duplicated, or unmatched transactions and document unresolved differences.
Create a practical checklist for each reporting period, including record collection, review questions, reconciliation, and report preparation.
Prepare agreed reports, such as a profit and loss statement and balance sheet, with context on outstanding questions and records still needed.
Keep supporting records organized and prepare an agreed year-end handoff for your tax preparer. Bookkeeping does not include tax filing, audits, or assurance services.
A PRACTICAL EXAMPLE
A service business has several months of unreconciled activity and a mix of personal and business purchases. We would first define the cleanup period, collect statements, and clarify transaction ownership. Ongoing bookkeeping starts from the reviewed baseline.
Illustrative engagement, not a client case study.
A CLEAR HANDOVER
Bring a list of your bank and card accounts, the last period you believe is reconciled, and an estimate of monthly transaction volume. We will agree on a secure way to access records after the scope is established.
LESS ADMIN. MORE POSSIBILITY.
Let’s talk about your books, your systems,
and what you’d like to work better.
